Children's Bunk Beds
There are a
number of children's bunk beds available from which choose. Read about the style, design, size
and price of children's bunk bed that is just right for you...
Children's Bunk Beds
You
may be surprised with how many different styles of children’s bunk beds there are. Sure, there are your standard
wooden or metal bunk beds. But there are plenty more styles you may not be aware of. Each style is designed with
a specific use and user in mind. Some come with two beds, like your typical childhood ones, while others are
more functional. For instance, some styles have couches on the bottom level that can be converted into a bed.
Another interesting children’s bunk bed style is the loft bed, in which a desk is also
incorporated.
Twin-Over-Full
One
of the most popular types of children’s bunk beds is the simple twin-over-full bed sets. In this design, the top
bed is a twin size, while the bottom bed is full sized. This type of bunk bed is perfect for older and younger
siblings; the older child will like the larger bed and the younger kid will love the feeling of sleeping up so
high. Some of the twin-over-full children’s bunk beds have one extra feature: the full size bed can be set up as
a futon. This way, two pieces of furniture are set up as one. This is a great space saver. The back of the futon
simple folds down to create the bed.
Twin-Over-Twin
Another popular type of children’s bunk bed is twin-over-twin beds. The name pretty much explains the
style. This bed design had twin sizes as both of the beds, where the full-over-twin had one bed larger than the
other. This style is ideal for those with kids that are close to the same age. Or, it’s great if you feel that
it is unfair to give one child a larger bed than the other. Lastly, this style is perfect if you are sure that
your children will fight a lot over who gets the “big bed”. This way, both beds are the same.
Full-Over-Full
If
you have older kids, they will definitely appreciate the third type of bunk beds: full-over-full beds. Since
these are larger beds, they are obviously going to take up more space. Also, they are going to run you more
money than the previously discussed children’s bunk beds. However, your kids will love the extra space. Here’s
another reason full-over-full bunk beds are so good: no older child, or more appropriately, teenager, will want
to sleep in a twin bed while his/her sibling gets a full-sized bed. With this bed type, both kids get plenty of
room
Loft Bunk Beds
The
last type of bunk bed that’s going to be featured her is the loft bunk bed. Loft bunk beds are some of the
best-looking of all children’s bunk beds. The main theme of this style of beds is space saving. Loft beds
feature two twin beds, the bottom one set out perpendicularly to the top bed. But that’s not what makes this
bunk bed special. With the bottom bed taking up only a third of the space under the top bed, this leaves room
for other furniture. Loft bunk beds fill that space with desks. This is great for older kids or teenagers. The
desk makes a great place kids to do homework work on projects, anything!
